Appearance

Orb weaver spiders are most distinguishable by the large webs they create--a circular web that can measure up to three feet in deameter. These spiders are very colorful and easy to recognize. They have a white abdomen with black spots and large red spines.

Habitat

Orb weavers are nocturnal spiders and many species will build or to repair work on their webs at night. They aren't hunters so they will sit in their web and wait for prey to get tangles in their webs.
